Day 2: lexis, functions, writing and reading.

The finger crossing seems to have worked because, this class improved my confidence greatly, most likely because the theme was "more me", which led to being secure about my interventions.

Security in oneself can be very important in the learning process, it helps with the interest in what is being learned, how much attention is being paid during class and how willing or inclined we will be to keep researching the subject even after the class is over.

As the title states, we discussed lexis, functions and two of the learning skills, reading and writing, these topics are ones that I feel comfortable with, reading is a big part of my life, I believe reading is an integral part of learning, the proper book at the proper time can awake a necessity to investigate and learn a little bit more about the subject being dealt with, it is also, quite helpful to learn new words and enlarge vocabulary.

This is becoming a fun journey, that will most certainly bring its ups and downs.

Day 1: grammar

I am a girl from Venezuela beginning what I like to call the TKT experience.

TKT stands for Teaching Knowledge Test which according to the University of Cambridge's website "is a test that focuses on the teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners of English, anywhere in the world. It can increase your confidence and enhance your job prospects."

There are 3 core modules, each of them lasts about a month and we are encouraged to keep record of every class, this is my attempt at it:

The first day was quite humbling for someone as confident in her english as I am, I realized that while my vocabulary can be extense and I can form coherent sentences, my grammar knowledge was lacking, I knew the basics but was completely blown away by how many gaps there were/are grammatically wise for me.

Due to this latest discovery I have decided to review old grammar books and browse around the web to refresh and fill those gaps. Hopefully it will come to me soon and I will regain my confidence as the website states.

Finger crossed for day 2.
